Why should I get vaccinated?

Vaccination against COVID-19 protects against contracting the disease yourself and also protects against passing the virus to others. In the case of COVID19 infection, serious complications of the lungs and other organs can occur. These can also lead to death, especially in older persons. Booster vaccination completes the vaccine protection and leads to a stable protective response for a longer period of time. In principle, regular booster vaccinations can be expected.

Which vaccine will be vaccinated?

Biontech/Pfizer (Comirnaty) and Moderna (Spikevax) vaccines will be vaccinated. These are mRNA vaccines, these vaccines protected against infection with COVID-19 with the highest efficacy and with very low side effects. For medical reasons, persons under 30 years of age will receive the Biontech vaccine. For the other persons, the choice of vaccines is based on availability, there is no individual choice. Our experienced vaccinologists will be happy to advise you on your final vaccination decision.

Who can be vaccinated/boosted?

- All persons 12 years of age and older can be boostered. - For booster vaccination, the interval from the last vaccination must be at least three months. - People with common allergies (for example, hay fever, food or food allergies). - Pregnant women are vaccinated from the 14th week of pregnancy. - First and second vaccinations can be given from the age of 12. The interval between first and second vaccinations is 3-6 weeks for Biontech and 4-6 weeks for Moderna.

Who cannot be vaccinated?

- Persons who are acutely ill with COVID-19 or have another acute infection with fever. - Persons who have had COVID-19 and who have had the infection less than 4 weeks ago. - Persons with complications after the first/second vaccination and severe incidents during previous vaccinations for other reasons. - Our experienced vaccinators will be happy to advise you on your final vaccination decision.

What documents do I need for vaccination?

Identity card, vaccination certificate and signed informed consent form or informed consent form in case of first vaccination.

What is the vaccination procedure?

At the reception on site, the personal data and the completeness of the documents are checked. After that, the vaccination takes place. Vaccination is done (for right-handed people) in the left upper arm. Please help us by wearing appropriate clothing - T-shirt, polo, sleeveless blouse. This is then followed by a follow-up of 5-10 minutes.

Are side effects expected?

Vaccination stimulates processes in the body that can trigger symptoms. These are vaccination effects and do not count as side effects. Pain at the injection site for one to two days is often reported. There may also be fatigue and mild exhaustion within 24 hours.

What to do after vaccination

Athletic exertion and drinking alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours after vaccination. In case of discomfort, preparations such as ibuprofen or paracetamol can be taken to relieve the symptoms.

How do I behave in the event of side effects that I cannot assess myself?

Serious side effects are extremely rare. If necessary, the family doctor should be contacted or the emergency room of a nearby hospital should be visited.
